Matka Silk is a rough handloom silk fabric made from the waste Mulberry Silk (Bombyx Mori) without removing its gum (sericin) part. It is largely obtained from the states of Karnataka and Kashmir but its spinning is done mainly in the Malda and Murshidabad districts in West Bengal.
Because it is made from mulberry waste, the texture is irregular. But that adds to the uniqueness of the fabric. Apart from saris marks silk is also used for making dresses.
Vanita Kollections brings you these Matka silks straight from Bengal. The rich fabric and specially designed sarees will add glamour to your wardrobe. In the winter what can be better than the thick marks silk
